July 25, 2011 - PRLog -- The shop specializes in major collision damage, known in the business as heavy hits. "These are expensive cars, and most often late models. A $30,000 repair job is not at all unusual for us," according to Alex. "However, we also do a lot of repairs between $250 and $3000".

"We like challenging jobs," said Morrie, "and because the insurance companies know that we can handle them, they'll let us fix a car which could have been a total loss at another shop. We have one goal - to make sure nobody can see the car has ever been repaired. We do everything to factory original specifications."

Another factor which facilitates the repair of heavy hits is that all mechanical work, from air-conditioning to electrical systems, is done in-house. "When you farm it out, you lose control."

How they handle so many hits is nothing short of amazing. Every car is put on one of 38 car-o-liner frame racks. On this rack the frame is first measured, straightened if necessary, then remeasured.

"We have more Car-O-Liners than anyone in the world. They are essential to our success," said Morrie, who explained that it's easy for an estimator to miss light frame damage, so they check out any vehicle that is even suspect. "If the frame is likely to require any work at all, it stays on the rack until all of the metal work and undercoating is completed," said Morrie.

The frame racks are mounted on lifts so taht the vehicle can be placed at a comfortable working height, which Morrie believes makes his technicians more productive because they are more comfortable. Keeping the cars on the rack also helps Morrie.


Growing to meet customer needs

Morrie and Alex have a ten year plan for Beverly Hills Auto Body Group. Aside from growing the business to better serve more customers' needs, they will continue to insist that their technicians acquire further professional (i-CAR) certification, plan to actively seek out the latest and best repair processes, and will continually invest in upgrading their already state-of-the-art equipment.
