An Adventure to Watch and Follow - Wick IT's Alex Hope tries to Get Rich Quick!

May 4, 2011 - PRLog -- Are there any genuine "Get Rich Quick" ideas out there on the internet that have a chance of working? Believe it or not I am asking a serious question here as, like many in these straightened days, I could certainly do with a big boost to my income just now. The obvious answer is of course that there are no genuine schemes but that does not seem to stop people from hoping. A quick search on the internet will reveal hundreds of thousands of ideas and schemes on offer at no charge or a token contribution to learn the secret of eternal wealth and prosperity.

If, like me, you are curious enough to pursue your research, particularly on a site like YouTube where the true awfulness is presented in HD video, you will be truly shocked at the appalling amateur way in which poor daft people try con poorer dafter people in a trail of desperate hope.

The schemes themselves seem to divide into a number of discrete categories:
- Good old pyramid selling,
- Pay to click and affiliate programs,
- The valuable download, and
- Membership style sites.

Of the four hundred thousand or so videos selected on a search "to make money at home" it seems that the vast majority are posted by individuals looking for referrals for schemes they have already joined. It is fascinating to try and work ones way through the thinking of someone posting up a video explaining how to make $10,000 a day and who clearly needs you to click on a link so you can too. So, being curious, like me, perhaps you click on the link and soon, after jumping through some hurdles and giving away your email details you find yourself inside the secret chamber where fortunes are made. Tomorrow you will have $10,000 in your PayPal account. You know it!

Well on my first day in the secret chamber I discovered that some people were making money. I looked at the private forum where the initiates share their hopes and dreams, I wonder why I felt guilty peering in at the inner thoughts of the con-artist and the gullible? What surprised me were the proud posts of the successful who were raking in sums in the region of $5,000 per month. Now, correct me if I'm wrong but that works out to around $167 per day, does it not? A reasonable amount of cash for sure but read further and you soon learn these guys graft for their bucks which certainly was not in the plan when I saw the video.

Those at the other extreme are those who came here desperate for salvation in their plight. Begging for help in finding their first sale and dollar these miserable cries for help bring little sympathy for Get-Rich-Quick is a cut throat business it turns out!

This was my first encounter in the world of "getting paid for answering surveys" and in turn promoting "getting paid for answering surveys" by advertising a free eBook on YouTube. Now, as I write less than twenty four-hours after the start of this adventure, the video has ticked up 99 views and 6 likes. How on Earth did I manage that I here you ask. I shall tell you next time.
