The Honorable Pedro A. Cortés, the first confirmed Latino Cabinet member and the longest serving Secretary of State in Pennsylvania history, will give the Commencement Address. Among the many highlights of the event will be the University recognizing individually each graduate who attends commencement. Each graduate will walk to the area in front of the stage, where his or her name will be announced and he or she will receive congratulations. In addition to the excitement of commencement, a special announcement will be made at this year’s ceremony regarding CONNECT: The Campaign for Harrisburg University, a $40-million inaugural comprehensive fundraising drive that launched July 1, 2006 and is scheduled to conclude by June 30, 2011.
