April 29, 2011 - PRLog -- Thursday, May 26th, SolomonEdwardsGroup will host the fourth panel event of their five part series for convergence planning.  The newly anticipated standards expected under the convergence of US GAAP and IFRS will necessitate substantial lead time to study the potential impact on business operations, human resources, technology and the overall time and cost needed to achieve compliance.

The following panel will discuss current plans and the potential impact of these rulings with an audience of accounting and financial professionals.

John Ehrie, Vice President and Controller, 7-11, Inc
Bradley Graham, Vice President and Controller, DynCorp International, Inc
Samuel Marsh, Jr., Lead Accountant of External Reporting, AT&T
Brian Lightle, Partner, Deloitte
Moderator: Brian Markely, Partner, SolomonEdwardsGroup

For thirty years, lease accounting standards have remained unchanged. This exposure draft will greatly alter the reporting activities of companies in every industry.  From a survey of attendees, companies rank their readiness for convergence at 4.5 from a scale of 1 (not ready) to 10 (completely ready).  The panel hopes to shed light on how to better prepare for the future requirements of financial statements.
