How To Clean Virus From Computer That Is Infected

April 28, 2011 - PRLog -- My computer is infected! What do I do?? Don't panic if you experience any symptom of computer virus infections. It might be a software or hardware problem rather than virus or malware infection. To clean virus from computer, follow these steps:

1. Disconnect your PC from the internet.

2. Start Windows in Safe Mode. If you want to use online scanner or download malware removal tools, start Windows in "Safe Mode with Networking". However, it is advisable to download using another computer to avoid remote control from the hacker (in case your computer is infected by rootkit, backdoor or spyware.)

3. Use your current anti-virus software or any other anti-malware program to scan the whole PC. If you don't have anti-virus or anti-malware software, download from the Internet. I would recommend Avast!, AVG Anti-Virus & Anti-Spyware, Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, or Microsoft Safety Scanner. All of them are pretty good and reliable.

4. If a malicious software is found, delete infected files and quarantine any object that may be infected. If your security software(s) unable to detect any malwares, your operating system is probably virus free. It might be a software/hardware problem. Try to restore your PC to an earlier point.

5. If the problem still persist, try to post your issue in Yahoo! Answer or forums such as Tech Support Guy.
