qMattresses.com Releases Sneak Peek of its Mattress Ratings

April 24, 2011 - PRLog -- Today, qMattresses released a sneak peek of its mattress ratings data, publishing ten (10) charts illustrating overall customer satisfaction of those ten mattress brands reviewed and covered by the site. Claiming a sample size of 900 respondents, the data underlines the website's commitment to providing visitors with relevant and impartial information.

"We are extremely excited about the data we have gathered," wrote Christopher Fitch, Site Editor, in a statement today. "It came with a lot of hard work and effort, but this is just the start. The sample published today is really just the tip of the iceberg," he elaborated.

The website has already published mattress reviews on 16 different brands of mattresses and nearly three dozen different models. The mattress products covered include some of the most prolific brands like Stearns & Foster (visit: http://www.qmattresses.com/category/brands-of-mattresses/stearns-and-foster-mattresses/) and Tempur Pedic as well as discount brands like PureBliss and Dynasty.

Some of the key "surprises" published in its latest post are negative ratings surrounding Stearns & Foster, a brand that qMattresses has been extremely positive and bullish about. "Definitely, we are disappointed to see that so few people enjoy this product the way we have," Fitch wrote. "It is not a cheap mattress and the technology is so very impressive that we have felt that it is one of the best mattresses out there. The data shows just how premature our findings have been."

While the Mattress Ratings post (visit: http://www.qmattresses.com/all-mattress-ratings/the-best-...) highlights overall buyer satisfaction, it also makes note of the high instance of consumer approval or satisfaction among discount brands compared to higher-cost and better marketed products.

"Marketing is an interesting thing," Fitch told us. "It may differentiate a best-seller from a slower selling product, but sales numbers are independent of consumer satisfaction. Our sneak peak post shows this rather clearly."

The website has committed to providing in-depth information about each of the products covered in its market research over the course of the coming weeks. Data that visitors can expect will be ratings on Comfort, Support, Durability, Value, Motion Transfer and Overall Satisfaction for the products covered in the broader survey. Those products include all of the mattresses reviewed and covered by the website as well as King Koil, Sleep Number and Vera Wang.

"Our choice to exclude King Koil, Sleep Number and Vera Wang from our site is not a permanent one, but one of current resource limitations," Fitch revealed, implying the site may initiate coverage and publish review information in the near future. "But to exclude them from our survey would be irresponsible since they are all very popular, well-known mattresses that sell and sell well on the market today."
