Center for Car Donations Now Accepts California Car and Truck Donations Without Smog Certificates

April 18, 2011 - PRLog -- Center for Car Donations is encouraging more people to donate their vehicles by lowering the requirements for car and truck donations. The organization is now accepting vehicle donations from California even if the car or truck has not passed the smog test required by the State of California. Vehicles that have not been tested for some time will also be accepted, as long as the vehicle is towable and has a complete set of engine parts.

Center for Car Donations is making it easier for people to donate their automobiles. Donors of non-smog certified vehicles will still receive tax write-offs if the vehicles are valued at $500 and above. Vehicles valued at less than this amount will still be given the fair market value of the car or truck. To complete the donation process, donors no longer need to have the vehicle’s title with them. Instead, Center for Car Donations will simply create a duplicate title for the donor to keep along with the tax receipt.
