Aqua-Firma Journey To Norway’s Northernmost Point On New Adventure Sailing Voyage

March 31, 2011 - PRLog -- In July and August this year, Aqua-Firma will be embarking on an adventurous new Arctic Sailing Voyage to Nordkapp – the northernmost point of Norway.  Wilderness and Wildlife experts Aqua-Firma will be sailing around some of Scandinavia’s least explored, yet most beautiful landscapes, at times further north than the majority of Alaska.  

In midsummer, the ‘Midnight Sun’ provides 24 hour daylight – maximising opportunities for trekking, land exploration and for observing wildlife.  Making use of wind power whenever possible, these voyages will sail through narrow fjords, past the rolling hills of Finnmark and the Alpine Mountains of Lyngen.  The ever changing and dramatic landscapes of the Norwegian wilderness, which are draped in colour and awash with a multitude of flora, provide endless photo opportunities.

In the comfort of a traditional and recently refurbished wooden sailing ketch, like-minded passengers will enjoy the freedom of a flexible itinerary, making for a wilderness sailing adventure that few are likely to forget.  The crew, who have an intimate knowledge and passion for the Norwegian wilderness, will be on hand to provide not only a relaxing atmosphere and comfortable accommodation but also an expertly led, enjoyable and adventurous sailing voyage.

This voyage boasts a truly hands on and authentic sailing experience, whereby passengers are welcome to assist with the sailing or engage in some fishing – any catches of which can be later cooked up for supper.  Throughout this voyage, passengers will be on the lookout for dolphins and harbour porpoises as well as 1000s of seabirds including sea eagles, puffins, little auks and black guillemots.  A rigid inflatable boat facilitates onshore landings and further exploration of the remote islands and their picturesque settlements.  By night, yet in broad daylight, the classic yacht will anchor in hidden coves, peaceful fjords and quaint townside quays.
