The United States Congress is considering cuts to Medicaid's spending on mental health services, with the trickle down effect of even more severe and debilitating cuts at the state level. With these proposed cuts, the economy will only suffer further, as individuals who struggle with mental illness will have difficulty accessing treatment, caring for families members and being active members of the workforce. Furthermore, they may additionally tax the economy with stays in emergency rooms, hospitals and prisons. NH State cuts are imminent Join in a "Rally for New Hampshire" to make a strong statement of "NH can do better," encouraging the Senate to 'start over' as they develop their recommendations for the state budget. If you have concerns over the budget as it now stands, please join in to make your voice heard. March 31, Thursday, Noon - 1pm; NH State House front lawn, Main Street, Concord Since the deaths of family members Kaleigh, Shane, and Marci; Ken and Danielle Lambert, Co-Founders of Keep Sound Minds (KSM) have created an ongoing effort to raise awareness about mental illness and its impact on society. The non-profit KSM has focused efforts on helping law enforcement better understand mental illness through improved training.
