March 30, 2011 - PRLog -- First National Operations and Maintenance is pleased to announce its water desalinization and power generation operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have been awarded certification under the ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OSHA18001:2007 by the certification auditor TUV Nord. This certification is granted by TUV Nord after it verifies that all aspects of NOMAC’s operations have adopted a world class uncompromising, tangible and measurable quality standard.

The certification followed the careful assessment of all aspects of the company’s operations including the  water desalinization and power generation operations for the Shuaibah Independent Power and Water project, the Shuaibah Expansion Water project, the Shuqaiq Independent Water and Power project and the Yanbu Barge Mounted Water project. "Quality is essential to our management process and by developing and implementing a Total Quality System, we show our clients that we are continuously striving for excellence in the operation and maintenance of the water and power generation plants. Additionally, the Saudi Arabian power and desalinization market is undergoing dramatic changes and requires the private sector to adopt the highest quality, safety and environmental standards to successfully compete and perform our business," said Julio Torre-Gutierrez, Chief Executive Officer for NOMAC.

The certification of NOMAC’s operations is part of a broad initiative to implement quality management practices throughout each power and water project. NOMAC is focusing intensively on identifying, measuring and continuously improving the facets of its operations that matter most to customers.  "These are highly complex assets and it is satisfying to achieve the ISO certification.  I am proud of the outstanding management system we have implemented and of our employees whose relentless commitment to quality and hard work make NOMAC a success each and every day. This will certainly benefit our customers and our operations and maintenance efforts," said Torre-Gutierrez.
