Leitvox's "Transition" EP is a glorious escape from the traditional to the sublime

Christian Cooley started Leitvox as an independent project in 2009.  He is the composer, producer and engineer of this project.  In April 2010, he released his first CD ‘Transition’ which is composed of 12 tracks, some of which are instrumentals and some include vocals.  The style of music composed is an electronic mix of rock in a mellower tempo reminiscent to trip-hop bands such as Portishead or Massive Attack.  As an alternative to standard electro/rock sounds, Christian Cooley has programmed new software applications under ‘Leitvox Software’ that are used in every track, which make this CD quite different than anything that you’ve heard. It truly identifies the artist as an elite musician with skills that are yet to be heard by his audiences all over the world. The software is available as free download on www.leitvox.com.

One particular single “Monolithic” is a prime example of this unique skill.  Utilizing specific instrumental sounds to create the aura and texture demanded in order to create compositions of this nature.  This particular song has slow methodic movement with vocals which seem to come from a place unrecognized.  He utilizes distorted sound effects creating a sort of drug induced sensation that mesmerizes you – captivating you and holding you in a trance throughout the song.  Mind blowing is the best form of description to give this song.  

This single is only a taste of the innate talent and skills that Christian Cooley has. This CD is a ‘must buy’ in my book if only to experience the compositions of someone so out of the ordinary, so out of the box, so eclectic and intelligent.

Christian Cooley is composing and producing a new Soundtrack and a Score of a major film in Mexico City. The Soundtrack is composed with the same signature characteristics as this CD but exploring new influences and sounds. It’s planned to be released on spring 2012. Additionally, he is working on multimedia installations where thanks to software programming and sensors, the spectator interacts with sound and music in real-time making a unique sonic and visual experience.
