Summer Camp You Can Afford in Ocean or Monmouth NJ

March 30, 2011 - PRLog -- Each Summer at Camp Topanemus in Millstone NJ , just minutes from the Freehold YMCA, is filled with different, fun and exciting activities .

Every  week at Topanemus is designed with a different theme in mind. From Wild West to Color Wars, and Carnival to Super Heroes, there is bound to be something for everyone. Here is a overview of some of our camp options:

Day Camp

Traditional Activities -This program is for the camper who likes to do something different every day. Each camper has an opportunity to try a variety of age-appropriate activities which may include nature, swim, high ropes, archery, sports, special events, arts and crafts. Energetic and creative counselors make camp a special experience for everyone.

Speciality Camp

More than just camp! -Campers focus on their specialty during the morning hours. The groups break for lunch, then experience the rest of the exciting activities that Topanemus has to offer, including recreational swimming every day!

Sports, gymnastics, basketball, baseball, magic and  performing arts are some of the specialties Camp Topanemus offers.

Travel Camp

Travel with Topanemus and Experience a Summer of Adventure with Your Friends! - For campers entering grades 6-9 . Accompanied by senior staff, teens take 3 day trips each week to outdoor recreation areas, sporting events,beaches and more. While at camp the other 2 days, activities include ropes course, swimming, sports, special events and creative fun.

This summer we are traveling to some of our campers’ favorites like Rockville Climbing Center, Sahara Sam’s Indoor Water Park and The Funplex …as well as some new places like a tour of Monster Mini Golf or IPlay America.

We also host many fun events throughout the summer. Parents and camper families are always allowed to visit, as we have an open door policy. However, we do have special opportunities for all of our families to visit together!

We host a Family Night where all the families are invited to attend AND participate in all the fun activities that the campers get to do each day! Families can learn to hit the target at our authentic Archery Range, discover their creative side in our Arts & Crafts center, explore the wonders of our environment in our Nature Center, test your limits on our Rock Climbing Wall or Zip Line and take a splash in our Splash Park or one of our swimming pools. Campers love to show off to their families all the fun they get to have, and teach their families the tricks and skills that they have mastered.

We also host a Family Day, where families are invited to observe a normal day of fun at Topanemus, and go with their campers through their scheduled daily activities. We offer a BBQ lunch that day for everyone to enjoy with their families, like a giant picnic. This way, everyone can observe their camper in the environment and culture that they have created here at camp.

Safety is our #1 priority. Counselors are carefully selected and hired based on their skills and participate in a week long training. We have an excellent Swim Instruction Program that follows the YMCA Progressive Swim Guidelines. Our facility is accredited by the American Camp Association.
