Fearless Caregiver Tour History: More than 38,000 caregivers have attended a Fearless Caregiver Conference since Today’s Caregiver magazine started this tour. “We are excited about returning to Nashville; this will mark the 104th event held since 1998.” says Gary Barg, Host of the Fearless Caregiver Conferences and Editor-in-Chief of Today’s Caregiver magazine.  

“The latest stop in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida was a tremendous success, hundreds of family and professional caregivers participated in a full day event where they received answers to their caregiving questions from doctors, religious leaders, healthcare leaders and Alzheimer’s, MS, cancer and diabetes and other experts during the day.” Barg says.

Speakers at the upcoming Nashville Fearless Caregiver Conference to include:

Catherine (Cathy) White – Is the Director of the Area Agency on Aging and Disability (AAAD) for the Greater Nashville Regional Council. Prior to that, she served as the Assistant Director of the Area Agency on Aging and Disability for over 14 years. She began her career at the Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability over 30 years ago as an Auditor and traveled the state completing monitoring reviews of the Area Agencies on Aging.

Clara T. Kelly, LBSW – Is responsible for the development of programs benefiting caregivers including education, support groups, public speaking and assistance at the Greater Nashville Regional Council, Area Agency on Aging & Disability. Ms. Kelly serves on committees for the Tennessee Respite Coalition, Alzheimer’s Association and the Davidson County Relative Caregiver Program.

Mary Lyn Goodman – Is an attorney in the Oak Ridge office of the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands. She devotes a significant portion of her practice to assisting and advising families on legal issues related to caregiving. She is a frequent speaker on advance directives and issues involved in representing clients with diminished capacity. In addition to being a caregiver herself, she current serves as President of the Board of the East Tennessee Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.

Dr. W. Shane Reeves – Co-owner of Reeves-Sain drugstore in Murfreesboro, Dr. Reeves has devoted his career to ensuring that patients, caregivers and medical professionals are well-informed about the numerous healthcare issues we face. While well-rooted in traditional pharmacy methods like medication compounding, he has also been instrumental over the years in introducing his customers and the greater community to a variety of innovations, such as MediPACK prescription management, infusion services, diabetes mail order business and home medical care.

Terry Mushrush, CLSSBB – is managing partner of a healthcare consulting group and president of My Medicine Manager, LLC. Terry is an industrial engineer with a passion for enabling chronically ill patients and their caregivers by providing them tools which enable them to take control over their at-home medication administration.

Gary Barg – The event host and moderator. A noted speaker, writer and publisher on caregiving issues since 1995, Gary Barg is founder and Editor-in-Chief of the first national magazine for caregivers, Today’s Caregiver, as well the original online caregiver community, caregiver.com.
