New Invention Takes the Unsafe Leaning Out of Home Gutter Cleaning

The Gutter Clutter Buster (http://www.gutterclutterbuster.com/) is a newly patented, DIY gutter cleaning tool.  Proudly Made in America, it was invented by a Bradenton, Florida couple as a way to safely, easily and affordably clean gutters.  The unique product is designed to simply attach to a wet/dry shop vacuum, reach as high or low as it is needed to go, and remove anything in a gutter that does not belong there.  No ladders, buckets, rakes, blowers, water, gloves or other cleaning tools are necessary, and users are kept safely on the ground.

“The Gutter Clutter Buster is my baby,” Jean Hofmann-Kay, the company’s president and CEO, said.  “I’m 73 years old.  I am not very big and I don’t care to climb that high.  With this, I can easily clean the gutters around our house in about half an hour, and I can do it while standing with my feet firmly planted on the ground.”

Hofmann-Kay and her husband, Robert, came up with the idea for the Gutter Clutter Buster a few years ago by using their own home as inspiration.  While Robert often worked long hours, Jean knew she needed something to help her take care of the home’s outside chores.  After discovering that their first prototype answered their prayers, they made the decision to take a chance, and pour their entire life savings into patenting and manufacturing this gunk busting device.

“The economy has had a lot to do with it,” Hofmann-Kay said.  “What’s going on with the housing market has greatly affected my husband’s electrical business.  The financial stability just isn’t there anymore.  Plus, I cannot stand the thought of others going without.  When we started selling our product, we promised to donate one dollar from each sale to a local food bank so that people who are down on their luck can at least have a good meal.  A lot of what we do is for others.”
