Tell us why your mum is the best - and win her a day out at Down Hall

March 11, 2011 - PRLog -- The contest is open to youngsters aged up to 13 from across the region who believe their mum is a cut above the rest.  All they have to do is draw a picture of their mum and explain in no more than 100 words why she deserves the prize.

Chris Falcus, General Manager at the 16th century hotel, said: ”Mums don’t always get the recognition they deserve for cooking, cleaning, washing, ironing, chauffeuring and mending bruised knees - often on top of a full day’s work!  

“We really want to treat one lucky mum to a lovely afternoon at Down Hall on Mothering Sunday, April 3, with her family.  As well as the three-course lunch for four, the family will be able to take advantage of all our leisure facilities for the day, including the swimming pool and outdoor games, so it’ll be a real treat for them.”

Entrants who don’t win can still take their mum for a three-course luxury lunch in the hotel’s Bridgeman/Selwin Suite, which also includes a Mothers’ Day gift.  The meal, which costs £40 per adult and £10.50 per child, will be accompanied by entertainment from a pianist.  The hotel is also offering an overnight stay in a classic room from £99 for the occasion.

Down Hall is a 99-bedroom hotel which is also a wedding and conference venue, located in 110 acres of woodland and parkland 15 minutes from Stansted Airport and half an hour from central London.
