Concave Perception Chamber’s (CPC) roots go back sixteen years to Sisters High School (Sisters, Oregon) when friends Jim Stout (drums) and Jesse Christensen (bass) and Matt Lauziere (guitar/vocals) decided to take their respective instruments and talents from the bedroom to the garage.   Many bands begin this way and these guys didn’t disappoint.  They went insane and crazed cacophonous jams ensued.  In 1998, the boys played their first public performance at a post game bonfire at their high school.  Their rendition of Tool’s ‘Sober’ and Rage Against The Machine’s ‘Killing in the Name’ got an all out exuberant response to their delight.   A few years later a coworker of Jesse Christensen, Jason Hardesty, joined the band and added his own flavor to the mix via his Fender Telecaster.  The band continued a sporadic, psychedelic assault on the local scene in Bend, Oregon until 2010 when Jason Hardesty left the band to raise his young son.  In the summer of 2010, CPC released their first EP, “A Priori” and with a renewed focus and vigor, they have increased their audience appeal with their music.

CPC is proud to announce the release of their debut EP, “A Priori”.  Their lead single off of this EP, “Last of the Control Group” is the perfect song to represent this group.  It is a radio friendly song where the vocals are introduced early on.  Its rhythm is smooth and has a new age rock sound.  Beat skips, rhythm distortions, changeups, fadeouts.  What’s missing is a smoke filled room and other accessories - very cool, very rock, very hip, very avant-garde.  It is a multi dimensional song with multi talented musicians taking their music out of the box and into your imagination.  As for the EP as a whole, there are many complex migrations of sound including layering of tracks, texturing and again, their creative juices that takes a hold of them and their ability to infuse their music with that genius.  It’s a joy listening to what they create.

Bend, Oregon’s local newspaper, The Bend Bulletin,  had voted this EP, “A Priori” in the top ten for local releases in 2010.

“Our work has an organic sound that is heavily inspired by nature and it is designed to connect the listener with that state of being that is internally quiet and reverent --- their own essence or nature.”
