Broward Landfill Worker Hurt in ATV Fall

March 2, 2011 - PRLog -- A landfill worker was hurt in an ATV fall in southwest Broward on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011. The accident happened at the Southwest Regional Landfill. The landfill is located in western Pembroke Pines, specifically at 7105 SW 205th Avenue. The accident happened just before 8am.

The landfill worker had been driving an all-terrain vehicle. As he was driving the vehicle, it went off course and rolled down an embankment. The worker had been near the north side of the landfill property. The embankment was approximately 12 feet high. The worker was alone in the vehicle.

According to the Pembroke Pines Fire Department, the worker was treated at the scene by paramedics from Pembroke Pines. He was then taken to Memorial Regional Hospital. He was taken there by a Broward Sheriff's Office rescue helicopter. His injuries were not expected to be life threatening.
