Unhackable PS3, Motorola Xoom, iPad 2: US Update by www.batteryfast.co.uk

We kick things off with news on a Sony’s upcoming unhackable PS3, follow up with Motorola Xoom pricing, drop details on Apple’s March 2 event for the iPad 2 and more.

The battle between Sony and jailbreakers looks to be coming to an end as rumors of an unhackable PS3 are now circulating. Apparently Sony will release a 300GB PS3 with special hardware to prevent jailbreaks very soon. The Motorola Xoom goes on sale Thursday in the US, we’ve pulled together the latest details on a UK launch.

According to AllThingsD Apple is planning an event on March 2nd where they’ll unveil the iPad 2. No word on when the second-generation tablet will ship, but we’ll know next week. Motorola Mobility has revealed that 28 percent of their handset sales come from Verizon Wireless in the US. With the iPhone 4 now available on Verizon, Motorola may face some serious challenges in 2011.

Last up this morning are the results from Engadget’s 2010 reader’s choice awards. Taking the lion’s share were Apple products, winning 8 of the 21 awards. The fanboys have managed to walk away with top honors this time around.
