Feb. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- Tarsus Advon’s MTO Summit Chicago – “Taste of Technology”- scheduled March 21-22 at the InterContinental O’Hare in Rosemont, Ill.,  has announced a stellar lineup of industry thought leaders  for sessions designed to engage show organizers and suppliers in the event industry.

“We are excited with the content, speakers and sponsor participation for the upcoming MTO Summit,” said Stephen Nold, founder of MTO Summit and president of Tarsus Advon. “With the theme ‘The Taste of Technology’, our audience will have the opportunity to learn about all of the latest innovative event technology solutions and how technology is impacting shows.”

The featured keynote speaker will be Eric Ly, co-founder of LinkedIn who is a successful entrepreneur from Silicon Valley, where he is founder and CEO of Presdo Inc. Presdo provides two products: a group scheduling application, Presdo.com, and Presdo Match, a product that provides one-on-one scheduling for attendees and enables face-to-face meetings at conferences and trade shows.

Eric Ly will be featured in a FREE webinar, "Applying LinkedIn Success to the Trade Show Industry", March 1 from 1pm - 2pm EST.Register here: https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/388928817

There also is an exciting line up of sessions on tap for the two-day MTO Summit Chicago, with some of the top show managers in the industry. Here is a ‘taste’ of what’s in store:

● On the Social Media Panel, the Association for Manufacturing Technology’s Peter Eelman and Lee Anne Orange will talk about their show’s innovative social media program.

● On the “Mobile Apps Now to Mobile Apps Next” panel, Tara Dunion from International CES, will discuss the show’s mobile app and how it has evolved.

● On the Virtual Events Panel, Stephen Leiber of HIMSS, Kenji Haroutnunian of Outdoor Retailer and Michael Kushner of United Business Media, will discuss how virtual events are adding value.

The first day of the summit also will feature the “Marketing Challenges Workshop” led by Warwick Davies - principal of The Event Mechanic!, who was responsible for internationally recognizable event brands such as the Macworld Conference and Expo, LinuxWorld Conference and Expo and the Customer Relationship Management Conference and Exposition worldwide.

According to Davies, the four-part session, which features industry leaders discussing different aspects of marketing strategies, was born from the idea that there are challenges of marketing given the economy and the plethora of technology options available to optimize, automate and streamline many event business functions, including marketing.
Other summit events include an opening reception and, the following day, a “Taste of Technology” breakfast and lunch at which show managers will have the opportunity to discover innovative event technology solutions.

The final event of the summit will be the MTO Tech Awards that will honor – Best in Attendee Experience; Best in Marketing and Communication; Best in Networking and Community; Best in Analytics and Measurement; Best in Mobile Applications; Best in Event Management; Best in Virtual Events.
