MBK CPA, Christel Harju, Accepts Committee Positions with Food Bank of Western Massachusetts

Jan. 25, 2011 - PRLog -- Holyoke Massachusetts:  Meyers Brothers Kalicka, P.C. is pleased to announce that Christel Harju, CPA has accepted positions on both the Finance Committee and the Board of Directors of The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, a non-profit organization in Hatfield.  Since 1982, The Food Bank has worked to prevent and alleviate hunger in Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin and Berkshire counties.  As part of its mission, The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts partners with more than 400 local food pantries, meal sites, shelters, residential programs and youth and elder care centers to bring approximately 7.6 million pounds of food to more than 108,000 people facing hunger in western Massachusetts.  Attorney Susan Fentin, the Food Bank of Western Massachusett’s Board President, recent noted, “The Food Bank is delighted that Christel has joined our Board of Directors.  Her expertise and experience will be a great asset to our Board overall, and specifically to our Finance Committee, as we work to meet our mission of reducing hunger and increase food security.”

Christel has worked as a Senior Associate in the Audit Department of Meyers Brothers Kalicka since 2006.  She began her career in pubic accounting in 2000, working at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Hartford.  Christel received her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Northeastern University in Boston and earned her CPA designation in 2007.  Christel is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA).
