These annual awards, the highest ratings possible from the non-profit safety research organization, recognize those vehicles that perform best in protecting passengers in the Institute's front, side, and rear crash test evaluations, as well as the newly required roof-strength test evaluations.

The 2011 Volkswagen models awarded these Top Safety Picks are the Jetta, Golf, Jetta Sportwagen, GTI, Tiguan and the all-new Touareg. In fact, Linden VW shoppers will be pleased to know that VW received more 2011 IIHS Top Safety Picks than any other brand.

The 2011 Volkswagen Jetta four-door sedan, for example, is redesigned with freshened styling and larger exterior and interior dimensions. The 2011 sedan is more than 3.5 inches longer with 2.6 inches more rear legroom than the 2006-2010 Jetta.

Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain-side airbags, and front-side airbags. Rear-side airbags are no longer available.

Linden VW shoppers can also upgrade to the Convenience Package for the SE model that includes 16-inch alloy wheels, faux leather upholstery, satellite radio, wireless cell-phone link, and heated front seats. SEL models include keyless access/engine start, 17-inch alloy wheels and a navigation system.
