Discover a World of Wonders

Voyages Jules Verne adds new itineraries to its popular worldwide brochure

Jan. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- Innovative specialist tour operator Voyages Jules Verne has launched the latest edition of its popular World of Wonders brochure.

Offering a wide selection of tours across the globe for departures until April 2012, World of Wonders’ tempting itineraries – by land, road, rail and cruise vessel - range from short breaks in Europe’s cities, coast and countryside to fully-guided tours of Africa, the Middle East, India, the Far East and The Americas.

NEW for 2011 are two walking itineraries:

• Walking in Nepal: Take in the awe-inspiring landscapes of Nepal on foot, at a relaxing pace and alongside expert guides on this seven-night itinerary. Staying in comfortable hotels throughout, stopovers include Nagarkot, Pokhara and Kathmandu, where the group pays a visit to the Rum Doodle Bar – the famous haunt of Everest summiteers. Price is from £1,345 pp*.

• Walking The Inca Trail: Experience the most famous trek in South America on this ten-night trip, taking in incredible vistas as you ascend to the unforgettable ancient site of Machu Picchu. As well as three nights on the Inca Trail and one at Machu Picchu, this itinerary also includes sightseeing time in the cities of Lima and Cuzco. Price is from £2,595 pp*.

Also NEW for 2011 are:

• China Revealed: Equally appealing to return visitors and first-time travellers to the country, this 18-night journey across rural China includes overland travel between the ancient capitals of Xian and Peking, and through the remote province of Yunnan – known as the ‘Land Beyond the Clouds’ – as well as a
two-night stay in cosmopolitan Hong Kong. Price is from £2,295 pp*.

• Discover Laos & Cambodia: Offering an intriguing insight into lesser-known Indo-China, this 16-night tour is ideal for those who may have visited Vietnam or Thailand and want to explore further afield in this part of the world. As well as a detailed sightseeing programme, the itinerary includes a traditional Baci ceremony (unique to Laos) and, in Cambodia, a visit to the Apsara dance theatre and Apsara Art Association, which supports orphans and children in poverty. Price is from £2,195 pp*.

• Bordeaux & the Rivers of Wine: Discover the fascinating and scenically-stunning Garonne and Dordogne rivers, and the Gironde estuary, on this seven-night cruise. Travelling in comfort aboard the new MS Princess d’Aquitaine, the itinerary includes wine tasting on the famous Médoc Châteaux Route and at Saint-Émilion, as well as visits to Bourg, Bordeaux, Cadillac & Libourne. Price is from £1,245 pp*.

• Discover Iceland: Voyages Jules Verne expands its Iceland portfolio this year to offer a ten-night exploration of the country’s cultural heritage and amazing natural phenomena. Starting in Reykjavik, the tour circumnavigates Iceland, with overnight stays at Reykholt, Akureyri, Húsavík/Mývatn, Egilsstadir, Skaftafell and Hella and full sightseeing programme. Price is from £1,295 pp*.

*According to the itinerary selected, prices are based on two sharing and include air travel and taxes, transportation, accommodation, some meals, a sightseeing programme and the services of guides and local representatives.

Voyages Jules Verne has also introduced two new brochure features to assist clients in making their 2011 travel choices. Alongside helpful details such as maximum group size and whether exclusive events or room/flight upgrades are available on a particular itinerary, World of Wonders now includes details of the walking content involved in each tour.
Graded from 1 (relaxed walking) to 4 (strenuous - for seasoned walkers), the ratings are based on an overall assessment of the tour in question. To help further inform its clients’ decisions, Voyages Jules Verne has also clearly noted in its itinerary descriptions where, on occasion, overland journey times exceed three hours (with comfort breaks) – for example, in the case of India itineraries, where travel at ground level is an intrinsic part of the experience.

Prospective travellers can also check Voyages Jules Verne’s award-winning website, www.vjv.com, for useful reviews by former clients, and visit VJVLounge – a Review and Members’ Area that enables clients to rate, review and read genuine customer reviews, upload photos and videos, create groups, and make friends whilst working their way through membership levels.

Renowned for its commitment to offering solo travellers a choice of departures without financial penalty, the latest edition of World of Wonders includes a range of popular No Single Supplement options, such as The Colours of Provence and Beaujolais (seven nights from £1,195 pp*), Grand Hotels on Lake Como (seven nights from £625 pp*) and Cyprus North to South (eight nights from £995 pp*). Further afield, solo travel choices include luxurious Nile cruises like A Royal Steamer Restored (seven nights from £1,695 pp*), a tour revealing the Images of India (16 nights from £1,595 pp*) and A Taste of China (7 nights from £895 pp*).

Special events and exclusive arrangements remain an integral part of the Voyages Jules Verne travel experience. In World of Wonders 2011, clients can experience a traditional Jewish-style dinner with music and performers in the Kazimierz district of Cracow, enjoy opera arias at a Doge’s Palace in Venice, visit Petra by candlelight, ride on a bullock cart in Nimaj...and much more.

Travelling in limited group sizes and expertly guided by local English-speaking specialists, Voyages Jules Verne’s itineraries are designed to capture the true essence of a chosen destination. Each tour in the World of Wonders programme includes the opportunity to enjoy new experiences in the company of like-minded travellers as well as adequate time to relax or explore.
