Young Survival Coalition San Diego teams up with psychotherapist Pasha Hogan to teach holistic approach to healing

Jan. 18, 2011 - PRLog -- SAN DIEGO—Young Survival Coalition San Diego is hosting a one-day retreat entitled ‘Making Peace With Your Body’ to equip breast cancer survivors and newly diagnosed patients of all ages with the positive coping skills needed to accept their post-treatment bodies on Jan. 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event is taking place at La Jolla Cove Bridge Club and will be facilitated by three-time breast cancer survivor Pasha Hogan, psychotherapist and founder of Creative Recovery (TM), a wellness program that empowers participants to transform life’s challenges into profound learning and healing experiences.

People in attendance will be led on a holistic, spiritual quest to reconnect with body, mind and soul through guided mediation, storytelling, yoga and art.

“Accepting the changes that your body goes through during breast cancer treatment is critical to recovering,” said Allison Briggs, retreat co-coordinator. “We are excited to have Pasha lead attendees on a transformative journey and anticipate that everyone will leave feeling refreshed with a new, positive outlook on their body and life in general.”

Family and friends impacted by a loved ones' breast cancer diagnosis are also invited to participate. Attendees are encouraged to R.S.V.P for the event. The cost is $40 in advance and $45 at the door; however, a limited number of partial scholarships covering 50 percent of the price are available.
