Fanwave.TV Takes Social TV Global For The Holidays

Dec. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- Taipei, Taiwan -- Fanwave.TV announces the launch of the first global social network for TV fans with the release of its free application for iPhone and iPod on the iTunes App Store for the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Taiwan.

Fanwave.TV enables users to share their TV watching experience with family and friends.  During the holiday season families that cannot spend time together can reminisce about shared memories and create new ones while watching holiday classics.  College football fans watching bowl games can cheer on their favorite teams.

Users can share what they are watching with friends, as well as earn badges through commenting and waving into TV programs. Live chatrooms for each program connect fellow TV watchers around the user's country and also allows posting to Facebook.  Matching the theme of channel surfing, show check-ins are referred to as wave-ins and user feeds are called waves.

TV show discovery is aided by lists of programs trending now and in the past week, while a list of hot upcoming shows displays what users plan to watch in the future.  Programming lists for the US, UK, Canada and Taiwan are available based on location and cable television service provider.

Fanwave.TV plans to add more countries to its network as well as apps for Android and other mobile phone OS, and a web based service.
