PRO-M WAVE The PRO-M WAVE is the newest creation in after market Mass Air Sensors by Pro-M Racing. The PRO-M WAVE can be used as a direct replacement for the original sensor used in all 2011 and newer Ford products and many other vehicles using frequency type Mass Air Sensors both foreign and domestic. The PRO-M WAVE has 2.5 times more range than the stock sensor. The PRO-M WAVE's extended range allows it to be used with engines with as much as 800 flywheel horsepower, while still using the stock air cleaner box. This sensor absolutely will not “peg”, yet still has excellent resolution. The PRO-M WAVE can also be used as an addition to fabricated ducting. Due to its design, this sensor can easily be added to any piece of existing ducting. It can be used in both “blow through” and “draw through” applications. The PRO-M WAVE is calibrated so that its range just slightly exceeds that of the ducting in which it is installed. This means that the sensor cannot “peg”, yet still has excellent resolution. Tuning is required, and a 40 point transfer function sheet is included. The transfer function sheet shows the transfer function that the PRO-M WAVE will have in whatever diameter duct you’ve chosen. It will support up to 800hp in a 3” diameter tube, up to 1100hp in a 3.5” diameter tube, and up to 1500hp in a 4” diameter tube. The PRO-M DUO allows the use of two mass air flow sensors with a processor that was originally intended for use with only one mass air flow sensor. Twin turbos, twin superchargers, dual throttle bodies, are examples of the versatility the PRO-M DUO offers! It is not just a simple voltage adder. This module allows you to use two meters that are appropriately calibrated for the amount of air flow that will pass through each meter. This is important, because it allows you to use two meters that will each range in voltage from 0 to 5 volts, utilizing their full resolution, and still provide the processor with a 0 to 5 volt signal! In other words the PRO-M DUO will accept two input voltages, combine and process them, and then output a corresponding 0 to 5 volt signal that the processor can use. As an example… If we had an engine that utilized two turbo chargers, each with independent ducting, we could use two separate mass air flow sensors to measure the total air flow. For instance, if this engine will ingest a total of 4000 KG/HR of air at full throttle, we would need two mass air sensors, each capable of flowing 2000 KG/HR. We would also need those mass air sensors to be calibrated so that they reached 5 volts at 2000 KG/HR in order to take full advantage of their resolution. The problem with simply adding these voltages together is that the resulting voltage would be 0 to 10 volts, and the processor is only capable of reading up to 5 volts. Another possible solution would be to calibrate the meters so that they reached only 2.5 volts at 2000 KG/HR, but this would decrease the meter’s resolution by 50%, and significantly reduce accuracy. The PRO-M DUO will take the signals from two mass air flow sensors, each at full resolution, process those two 0 to 5 volt signals, and output a voltage ranging from 0 to 5 volts. The PRO-M DUO has three individual harnesses, each exiting a central control module: Harness (1) has four wires (12vdc, chassis ground, signal ground, and signal) and is meant to be connected to mass air sensor number one. Harness (2) has four wires (12vdc, chassis ground, signal ground, and signal) and is meant to be connected to mass air sensor number two. Harness (3) has four wires (12vdc, chassis ground, signal ground, and signal) and is meant to be connected to the vehicles processor, via the vehicles existing mass air sensor harness connector. In addition, the central controller includes an adjustable potentiometer that allows the user to fine tune the output signal.
