Authentic Pilates Opens in Anaheim, Reigning Client Miss California Signing Event

Core Arts Pilates announces the opening of its second location in Anaheim, California, located in the Anaheim Hills Village Plaza, 5642 East La Palma Avenue, #204, Anaheim, CA 92807.  The studio will be having a soft-launch opening on December 18, 2010 – featuring a signing event for current client and reigning Miss California 2010, Arianna Afsar, prior to her departure for the Miss America competition in January 2011.


Core Arts Pilates in one of two fully equipped Pilates studios in North Orange County that features instructors who are authentically trained.  All the Core Arts Pilates instructors have undergone a rigorous training program that consists of a minimum of 600 hours on all Pilates equipment:  Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair and Barrel.  Core Arts Pilates is one of the only studios that furnished with Gratz Equipment, the top of the line manufacturer of Pilates Equipment worldwide.


The first studio originated in Los Angeles, where the director, Sharmila Mitra, M.A. taught hundreds of clients that dealt with breast cancer, cystic fibrosis, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease. She’s taught Hollywood celebrities including Toni Collette, Patricia Richardson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Mary Louise Parker and Victoria Secret model Yasmeen Ghauri.  The Los Angeles location is 8338 Beverly Blvd, four blocks from the Beverly Center.


Mitra started Pilates in 1997 while studying Theatre and Dance at Cal State Fullerton.  After graduating in 1998, Sharmila Mitra moved to New York to study with the direct protégé of Joseph Pilates and worldwide Master Teacher, Romana Kryzanowska through the New York Authentic Pilates Guild. To further her Pilates study, Mitra completed a second teacher certification-training program through Power Pilates in 2004.


Most recently, she has enjoyed multiple partnerships with several of Orange County’s top dance studios, having the privilege of training several local finalists for the national renowned show So You Think You Can Dance.
