SBI to thinks about special home loan scheme expansion Dec-end

Dec. 3, 2010 - PRLog -- State Bank of India said it will decide on extending special home loan scheme by this month-end.
"We will take a call on it by December-end," Chief Financial Officer S.S. Ranjan told TickerNews on the sidelines of Bancon 2010 here.
State Bank of India offers special SBI home loan scheme at 8% interest rate in the first year of loan tenure.
This scheme is set to expire on Dec 31.
Earlier, Reserve Bank of India had expressed concerns over the special or so-called teaser rates housing loan schemes as it feared it may deteriorate banks asset quality going forward.
Wednesday, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank said it will not extend special rates offered on housing loan schemes which expired November-end.
At 9:34AM, State Bank of India shares were at Rs 3,081.50 on the National Stock Exchange, down 0.55% from previous close.
