Nov. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- Boston, Massachusetts, November 22, 2010 – Temperature@lert announced today the expansion of its Cellular Edition’s cloud computing capability with the latest features of the Dashboard browser interface.  By combining low-cost cellular service plans with multi-probe digital temperature and humidity sensor technology, Cellular Edition allows users to manage one or several devices distributed within a site as well as for multiple, geographically dispersed locations.

Multiple monitoring and alerting functions controlled by one interface

Cellular Edition relies on Temperature@lert’s innovative Dashboard user interface that enables wireless monitoring for any number of devices and locations, and for any number of sensors and alerting strategies.  Cellular Edition sets up in seconds and begins transmitting the temperature as soon as it is plugged in.  Customers log on to the company’s secure servers to access the data and begin customizing their own personal data base and alerting strategy.

Starting with the most basic screen, users define the temperature and/or humidity levels that are of concern and set one or several thresholds for each sensor.  For each temperature threshold an option to send email, text or voice phone messages is chosen for one or several recipients.  Multiple thresholds can be set for advanced escalation strategies to insure action is taken when problems occur.

More than just temperature and humidity

Cellular Edition’s advanced features allow customers to not only know when the temperature or humidity are too high or low, but also when there is a problem reporting in or when electrical power interruptions occur.  HealthCheck allows customers to send an alert when their device has not checked in after a few intervals, letting them know there is a problem sending or receiving measurements due to device, cellular service or other unplanned or unexpected events.

AC Power Sensing provides an additional level of advanced warning about potential problems.  Cellular Edition’s back-up batteries allow it to keep transmitting data with or without AC power.  When AC power is interrupted AC Power Sensing can send an alert to that facility or local power is disrupted, giving users a head’s up that potential problems can occur before they happen so action can be taken sooner, providing an extra cushion of time to prevent catastrophic losses.

Cloud Functionality for Multi-Sensor and Multi-Location Monitoring

Dashboard’s Advanced Alerting features provide users with an immediate view of their entire network of Cellular Edition sensors.  Customers can choose from a number of display options and alert algorithms to optimize their monitoring and response plans.   Basic options include tabular, graphical or geographic map views to let customers know their assets are safe.  In addition to being accessible from any web browser, Dashboard can be viewed from Temperature@lert’s free iPhone App for true mobility and Cloud functionality.

Temperature@lert continues research into the most cost-effective environmental monitoring products on the market.  The company’s near-term development plans include Dashboard for its USB and WiFi Edition products, shorter monitoring times and expanded sensor options.
