From the Nephis Valley to Blue Oasis Prince Caldwell, Chris and Ylianor, search for a stolen pyramid piece at the request of the dying leader of the High Council, Arthur Fairchild. Their quest leads them to Cecilia Hurst, an ex-lover of the Prince's and a woman with a penchant for playing games of a sexual nature. The Game is for multiple lovers and the players take on roles of master, guest and slave testing their limits to the brink. With the help of their freshly awakened Virt, a unique and powerful sexual energy, the trio learn to play a game within the game.
But it's not all fun and games. To return the stolen pyramid piece, a symbolic structure of the sacred valley, is not as easy as it sounds. A great force has been nudged awake with catastrophic results if not dealt with correctly, and the only one who has the right sort of Virt to deal with this is Chris. Forced back into his blood letting ways, Chris attempts to put the wrong doings right, but is he strong enough to survive the wrath of what has been disturbed?
The continuing story of Prince Caldwell, his lover Chris Templeton, and the beautiful Ylianor Meyer of whom completes the trio are back again with their second Virtus Saga. And The Game is on. Incredible concept. Intriguing fantasy world. Ideas aplenty. This is a complex series of love and consequences and The Game was hot. There were lots of hints as the characters' excitement for the Festival (the next and third book) builds. What a great way to keep readers hooked and on the edge of their seats; dish it out in instalments, like a (fantasy) soap opera. In order to get the best out of this series, to see the full impact of the plot upon the players, I suggest reading the complete series. They are not written to be stand alone stories and they do lead direct from one book into the next. So far. Luckily the third book, The Festival, is already out now! Read at your peril in the hopes that the powers of Virt don't control you, too. Who knows what you'll get up to?
