Trusted Mission Solutions Inc. One of Three to Achieve Top Software Certifications

Nov. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- McLean, VA – November 16, 2010 – Trusted Mission Solutions Inc. (TMS) announced today that it has achieved ISO/IEC 20000 - 1:2005 certification, making it one of fewer than 50 companies in the nation to achieve both SEI Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 3 (v1.2) and the ISO 20000 certifications, and as of October, 2010, one of just three small businesses to do so.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is the world's largest developer and publisher of International Standards.  Its 20000 – 1:2005 standards for Information Technology Service Management ensure that TMS delivers the best possible service to meet a customer's IT business needs:  service that is professional, cost-effective, and with risks that are understood and managed.  The standards also provide for continuous quality improvement of TMS’s IT service delivery.

The Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute (SEI) works closely with defense and government organizations, industry, and academia to continually improve software-intensive systems. Toward that end, SEI developed the CMMI process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance.  At maturity level 3, repeatable processes are well characterized and understood within TMS and establish consistency within all projects across the organization.
