World-Renowned Bluebird Café Features Canadian-Native Roots Rock Artist Trevor Finlay
Nashville’s legendary Bluebird Café features Canadian-native roots rock singer/songwriter/guitarist Trevor Finlay at the Sunday Night Songwriter Spotlight, November 28th
The Bluebird Café is one of the world’s preeminent listening rooms and the venue has gained worldwide recognition as a songwriter’s performance space where the “heroes behind the hits” perform their own songs; songs that have been recorded by chart-topping artists in all genres of music. Located in a small strip mall outside of downtown Nashville, the 100 seat venue is unassuming in appearance but some of the most significant songwriters and artists have performed on this stage. At The Bluebird, performers include up-and-coming songwriters along with those whose music is regularly on the charts, country music as well as pop, rock and Contemporary Christian hits. Garth Brooks played on both the Open Mic and Sunday Songwriter’s Shows before he was discovered – at The Bluebird – and signed to Capitol Records. On any given night, artists such as LeAnn Rimes, John Prine, Jojo Herman, (Widespread Panic) and Phil Vassar mingle with writers such as Hilary Lindsey (Jesus Take the Wheel/Carrie Underwood), Chris Tompkins and Josh Kear (Before He Cheats/Carrie Underwood).
"A born entertainer, helluva guitar player and an engaging interview... what more can you ask for!" Charlie Mattos – WSM Radio, Nashville, TN
Trevor Finlay has stormed stages around the world from his native Canada to Australia, France and the USA. Since taking the plunge and moving to Nashville, TN in 2008, he continues to wow audiences by invitations to perform at some of Nashville’s renowned events such as Nashville’s CMA Fan Fair, the Harley-Davidson Summer Concerts Series, the Legendary Bluebird Birdsongs Series - a benefit for the Bluebird Café and most recently “SESAC Presents” at the Americana Music Festival. He is also winning fans everywhere with full sets of new material, a “Live” Album entitled Bootleg and his unique instrument called the Violap. The CD holds bittersweet memories being the last recording done at the legendary venue Norm’s River Roadhouse before Norm’s was completely destroyed by the massive storms and floods that Nashville experienced back May of this year.
His stage credits are equally impressive: he’s played with or opened for The Charlie Daniels' Band, John Hiatt, James Brown, Kid Rock, Booker T & the MG’s, Chris Isaac, Johnny Winter and Buddy Guy.
