Follow on Google News | Gynecomastia – Men’s Greatest Fear No MoreAbout half of all men today have excess localized fat and/or excess glandular tissue in one or both breasts. Gynecomastia accounts for more than 65 percent of all male breast disorders, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
By: Jullian Guilliard Low self esteem, loner and shy those are the overwhelming characteristics I’ve noticed about Marko, a 7th grader in Dover High School when I approached him for an interview. He has a condition called gynecomastia, a condition wherein the breast of a male is enlarged mostly because of heredity or hormonal imbalance. “It hurts me the most seeing my son became a recluse; it’s as if his growing teen years had been forcedly taken away from him” says Mary Evans, Marko’s mother. “His condition makes him inactive thus he continuously to gain weight which is not helpful to his condition. Well even if my son will undergo a strict diet, my effort will still be in vain still as gynecomastia will not usually improve with diet and exercise that is what Dr. Polanski told me” True to what Mrs. Evans statement, breast enlargement or gynecomastia can only be treated with surgery and liposuction. “A half an inch incision around the edge of the areola or in the underarm area will be enough. The patient may feel a vibration or some friction during the procedure, for liposuction- Marko had to lose weight before he will undergo the liposuction procedure. If he already reaches a normal weight then Dr. Polanski will perform the procedure immediately. Medical technology had come a long way already. A teenage boy like Marko deserves a normal life just like the boys at his age. The liposuction will give him a renewed strength and confidence to face the challenges in his life he will embark in the future. # # # Visit http://best- End
