Safety Management Overseas SA. Owned Bulk Carrier Pedhoulas Trader Completed ahead of schedule

The New York Stock exchange listed Safety Management Overseas SA, Greece owned bulk carrier MV. Pedhoulas Trader called in for her intermediate drydocking call to Colombo Dockyard during October 2nd week 2010.

Nov. 10, 2010 - PRLog -- The New York Stock exchange listed Safety Management Overseas SA, Greece owned bulk carrier MV. Pedhoulas Trader (82,214 DWT) called in for her intermediate drydocking call to Colombo Dockyard during October 2nd week 2010.

Colombo Dockyard PLC (CDPLC) completed the drydocking repair requirements of the MV. Pedoulas Trader and re-delivered the bulk carrier ahead of schedule to the full satisfaction of the owners.  

Safety Management Overseas SA stemmed the drydocking repairs to Colombo Dockyard looking at the strategic location of the yard, giving minimal diversion from vessels trading route and our competitive pricing, coupled with the past experience the yard has gathered in servicing Greek owners, supplemented with the peace full business atmosphere in the Country.

Yard had quoted seven days for the work package which consisted of routine drydocking repairs, surface preparation, coating, shaft seals vulcanizing, rudder clearance etc. During these period additional jobs that cropped up on the engine sector was also handled, where the yards production teams worked tirelessly to meet the stringent deadlines.
     
This being the first business with Colombo for the Safety Management Overseas SA the owners sent scouting superintendent Mr. Konstantinos Georgiadis initially asses the yards capacity, safety and quality aspects. Upon the positive findings the vessel called in to CDPLC for her repairs. During the drydocking call the owner’s interests were looked after by the attending superintendent Engineer Mr. Kostas Bourgiotis.

The classification society Lloyds Register of Shipping exclusively represented in Sri Lanka requirements were also met by the yard during this call.    
The bulk carrier was accommodated in drydock No. 04 on arrival and she sailed out to her next port with extra day in hand as the yard completed the work within 6 days, gaining full confidence of this new client to CDPLC’s portfolio.
 
The Local Agents –Mc Larence Shipping Ltd provided the necessary husbanding services for the vessel during her stay in Colombo efficiently.
