Television Chef Lidia Matticchio Bastianich Visits PSS Distribution Services’ Warehousing Facility

Nov. 8, 2010 - PRLog -- Television chef Lidia Matticchio Bastianich of Lidia’s Italy recently visited the 3PL Warehousing facilities of PSS Distribution Services headquartered in Jamesburg, New Jersey.  The visit follows a recent contract between PSS Distribution Services and Nonna Foods, the supplier of Chef Lidia’s line of best-selling cooking products.

According to Gary Borne, President of PSS Distribution Services, Bastianich wanted an inside look at how the supply chain of her product line works. She asked about quality assurance, food safety handling and service to her customers.

“It was an honor to show Lidia our warehouse facilities,” says Borne. “She emphasized to us that the quality of her products along with her very loyal following of customers have inspired her to provide the highest quality products in the most efficient way possible.”

To demonstrate how PSS Distribution Services provides superior supply chain services, Borne led Bastianich on a tour of the 200,000 square foot distribution center that handles her products. According to Borne, Bastianich spent time on the floor working and speaking with the customer service team as well as the warehouse operations manager to get a better understanding of how the distribution center works.

Bastianich’s award-winning cooking show, Lidia’s Italy, airs on public television and complements her best-selling line of cookbooks.
