Nov. 8, 2010 - PRLog -- FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. –  Miller Construction Company’s project team members received five Construction Association of South Florida (CASF) Craftsmanship Awards at the association’s annual recognition event on Nov. 4 in Davie.

The CASF Craftsmanship Awards are an annual tradition that began in 1958, and nominations are submitted by employers, contractors, engineers, architects and developers.  Through the years, craftsmen on Miller Construction Company project teams have won more than 300 of the awards – more than any other general contractor.

Craftsmen were honored for their work on three Miller healthcare construction projects and for the extensive renovation and expansion of the Audi Pembroke Pines dealership:

-  Holy Cross Hospital – Miller Senior Foreman Christopher Morley showcased the company’s expertise in preventing infection while working in a healthcare environment.  He received the award for his role in temporary protection during a hurricane hardening project at Holy Cross Hospital, Fort Lauderdale.

-  Cleveland Clinic Florida – Three awards recognized craftsmanship on Miller projects at the Cleveland Clinic Florida campus in Weston.  Among those projects was a multiphase renovation that included constructing a second floor atop a one-story section of the hospital to accommodate a 10-bed expansion of the Post Anesthesia Care Unit, plus renovating adjacent space to add five beds to the Intensive Care Unit. Honored for craftsmanship on various projects at Cleveland Clinic Florida were:  Dwight Clarke of Brighton Air Conditioning, Mark Gregory of Phoenix Painting Co. and Trevor Holloway of G&F Equipment Rental.

-  Audi Pembroke Pines – Miller “rebranded” the dealership with Audi’s high-profile interior and exterior building finishes for owner Holman Automotive Group. The dealership at 15000 Sheridan Street remained fully operational throughout the renovation.  Robert Ross of Lotspeich Company of Florida won a Craftsmanship Award recognizing his metal framing work on the project.
