Australian Mineral Makeup and Cosmetics Company, Alexami, Set to Launch in Korea

Nov. 4, 2010 - PRLog -- Australian natural mineral make up brand, Alexami Cosmetics, is going from strength to strength. Inspired by nature, Alexami's professional quality mineral makeup and cosmetics are stocked exclusively through spa and beauty industry outlets across the country and come December, the brand will be launching internationally in Korea.

This will make Korea the first country outside Australia to receive shipment of Alexami Cosmetics. Although not traditionally considered as prime export market for Australian brands, distribution in Korea came about through Alexami founder Alenka Dirnbek’s friendship with the founder and CEO of Mukti Botanicals – an Australian company who share a similar eco-friendly and pro-organic code of ethics with Alexami. Dirnbek was introduced to Mukti's Korean distributor who fell in love with Alexami products and within months, a deal was done.

Dirnbek is confident the Alexami philosophy that looking good shouldn’t come at the expense of your health or the environment will be well received in Korea. Last year South Korea experienced several safety related scandals in the beauty and personal care industry, which has resulted in heightened consumer awareness of product safety and increased demand for natural and organic products. Culturally, many Asian women are already familiar with natural ingredients from traditional medicines, and show preference for ingredients perceived to enhance beauty without harmful side effects.  Additionally, despite the economic downturn Korean consumers continued to show a preference for premium products in 2009.

Alexami's international distributors will enjoy the same support Alexami provides to Australian distributors, including product knowledge training videos and power point brand and training presentations.

While the Korean expansion is the focus for now, Dirnbek aims to expand the brand to other international markets, including Slovenia in just a few weeks, with other countries will follow next year. “We are preparing to launch Alexami in more European countries, as well as Asia and hopefully Middle East next year.”

Alexami's ecologically and socially responsible code of ethics is central to the brand, so while looking for distributors overseas, Dirnbek will ensure Alexami will be represented by companies who understand the importance of natural products and non-toxic ingredients, and are committed to health and the environment.

Apart from the new territories, Dirnbek is also continuing to evolve the range of high quality, truly natural products that Alexami is known for. “My focus is to develop more unique products, work on limited editions and offer something new on regular basis. This is where my passion is,” she says.
