Nov. 2, 2010 - PRLog -- Calling all gamers! Game Pazzo opened Saturday, Oct. 30, at 2011 63rd St. in Downers Grove, IL. Game Pazzo is a one-of-a-kind video gaming facility, a destination where adolescents, adults and families can experience cutting edge technology while shopping, dining, playing and competing in organized gaming activities.

The concept is new to Chicagoland.

“During economic downturns, people tend to look towards entertainment to help cope,” said Gene Esposito, co-founder of Game Pazzo. “We feel we’re offering people a new, inexpensive form of social entertainment.”

The 13,000 sq. ft. location combines a gaming retailer footprint with a high-end gaming center, food and beverage and a private party room. The gaming retail section offers the extremely popular “buy, sell and trade” aspect of gaming as well as new gaming merchandise, accessories, a huge assortment of new and used video games, gaming consoles and hardware.

The advantage over traditional gaming retailers is the integration of a high-end gaming center with state-of-the-art HD jumbo screen TVs, video gaming pods, vibrating gaming chairs, sofas, headsets and sound systems at each of the 30 gaming stations.

What is very exciting to gamers is a life-like Rock Band stage. Game Pazzo has attracted the attention of a number of big name brands in and outside the gaming industry. One example is Rock Band, which is owned by MTV Games. The full size stage gives gamers the look and feel of performing like a bona fide rocker on a real rock stage. The stage is decked out with lighting trusses, flashing stage lights, big screen TVs and oversized speakers.

Game Pazzo announces there will be regularly scheduled “Battle of the Bands” contests on Friday and Saturday nights.

“In addition to Rock Band, we have formed strategic relationships with Microsoft, Electronic Arts (EA), Comcast, Polk Audio, TRITTON Technologies, Mad Catz, and Monster Energy,” Esposito said. “Eventually, gaming content will be digitally downloaded by the players, thus eliminating the need for the retailer. I believe our gaming center will be the key to sustaining our success. We intend to be a ‘category killer’ in gaming.”

Game Pazzo is a gamer’s paradise where people have a unique and fun place to hang out with friends while enjoying the hottest video games on the market.

Co-founder Esposito spent 25 years in the technology and consulting services industry and is currently president of Espo Corporation – one of Chicago’s oldest and most established contract consulting companies. A gamer himself, as well as a father of teenagers, Esposito saw the opportunity to offer casual and hardcore gamers a social environment to practice, play, compete, and showcase their gaming skills.

“Game Pazzo is offering a platform that will fill a void in the gaming industry - the socialization of gaming,” Esposito said. “We intend to pull gaming from people’s living rooms and basements to an environment that allows for social interaction.”

In addition, Game Pazzo will use its website and social networking tools to collaborate with its customers to coordinate gaming leagues, private parties and corporate events and tournaments. For example, customers will have the ability to schedule times and dates of “Halo,” “Madden Football,” and “Rock Band” leagues and tournaments.

“We want our customers to provide input to the development of the gaming activities,” Esposito said. “This facility is for them. To expand our competitive gaming options for our members beyond Game Pazzo, we will leverage Microsoft’s Xbox LIVE platform to allow our members to compete with other gaming facilities on a local, national, and international basis.”

Plans are to evolve and enhance the gaming experience on a continual basis. By staying on top of the latest gaming technology and accessories, gamers will have a far better experience than what they can get in their homes.

The center’s food and beverage menu includes specialty sandwiches, hamburgers, mini pizzas, beverages and energy drinks. The facility has free wireless access for those parents who want to work on their laptops while their kids are gaming.

A typical night out at Game Pazzo is very affordable, costing from $7 to $20. Available are options for monthly and annual VIP memberships, so customers can receive premium services such as admission to launch parties and other private events.
