ADR Report-Argentine ADRs retreat, outlook seen bullish

SACRAMENTO, Calif. Oct. 28, 2010 – Keith Springer discusses the effects on the Argentine stock market after the death of former president Nestor Kirchner.

According to Reuters reporter Rodrigo Campos, “The bid on some Argentine assets Wednesday and Thursday was attributed to increased confidence among investors who disliked Kirchner's economic policies, seen by many as market-unfriendly.”

Kirchner, a top advisor of his wife and current president Cristina Fernandez, was expected to run in Argentina's 2011 presidential election Campos continued.

Kirchner "had an iron-fist leftist approach to business and with him out of the way it is definitely going to open up opportunities in the market place for Argentine companies and stocks," said Keith Springer, president of Springer Financial Advisors  in Sacramento, California.

An index of U.S.-traded shares of Argentine companies. BKAR lost 3.3 percent Thursday after rising 7.9 percent Wednesday, the largest daily percentage gain since a 9.2 percent jump on June 1, 2009, Reuters reports.
