Oct. 27, 2010 - PRLog -- The new web platform that is currently under construction known as HTML5 is promising to change a lot about the inner workings of the world wide web. Since a large portion of humanity does not understand computer languages (we don’t really need to in order to use the Internet), most of the changes that HTML5 developers are predicting will likely not be immediately noticeable to mainstream web users. But just because we don’t see it doesn’t mean it won’t affect us or how the Internet works.

Before this latest attempt at an update with HTML5 development, the last HTML development was in the late 90’s back before YouTube was blowing up the web with videos. Most of us non-programmers can’t appreciate the difficulties that arose as videos and streaming media became a dominating force on the web. Most of the current HTML code was written with the expectation that webpages would be mostly ‘static’ (meaning little to no video integration). So the current code was not written for the way that the Internet is currently being used. An update has been long overdue for years.

HTML5 development is primarily focused on creating more universal browser standards for integrating video and incorporating new elements and new functionalities into web browsers (such as HMTL5 sliders and HTML5 galleries) that do not need support from applications like Flash, Silverlight or JavaFX.

HTML5 developers are trying to integrate the new platform in a way that will be used by all the browsers.  The universality of the language is what gives it its appeal. HTML5 galleries and HTML5 sliders will increase your options on the web and the website developer’s options for how to create the user experience and make it more dynamic. As the web becomes more and more like television, HMTL5 developers are working to create a new, more relevant system that will integrate web code to reflect the realities of its usage today. It is a bold new step that will change the way the Internet works in our lives yet again.
