Milton Financials: World’s largest solar power project gets the go-ahead from U.S. administration.

The U.S. Interior Department has approved a permit for the globes largest solar project which will supply electricity for up to 750,000 homes.

Oct. 26, 2010 - PRLog -- A proposed 1,000 megawatt solar energy project to be located on federal lands near Blythe in California, and the brainchild of a subsidiary of Solar Millennium AG has been granted a permit by the U.S. Interior Department.

"The Blythe Solar Power Project is a major milestone in our nation's renewable energy economy and shows that the United States intends to compete and lead in the technologies of the future," the U.S. Interior Secretary told Milton Financials.

The project is in line with Barrack Obama’s efforts to have more U.S. electricity supplies generated from renewable energy sources such as wind, solar and biomass while also creating thousands of clean energy jobs.

The Blythe project is to consist of four concentrated solar electric generation facilities which are capable of producing up to 1,000 MW’s of power, Milton Financials has learned, roughly equal to the generation capacity of a large fossil fuel burning power plant.

Energy will be generated by rows of large curved mirrors focusing the reflected sunlight onto a liquid filled tube which is heated to 750 degrees Fahrenheit, the fluid then goes through heat exchange to generate high pressure steam which in turn is fed into a turbine which generates electricity.
