Oct. 21, 2010 - PRLog -- The 2008 vice presidential nominee and former Alaska Governor, Sarah Palin, praised The Joss Foss Institute's work in teaching patriotism, public service, and the value of our freedoms to the next generation of children in schools. This event occurred right after the Governor's husband, Todd Palin, attended the annual Joe Foss Pheasant Hunt in South Dakota. The proceeds from the Joe Foss Pheasant Hunt helped further the work of the Joe Foss Institute.

The Hunt take place in the same region that Joe Foss himself grew up, in rural South Dakota. It was there that Joe Foss first was expose to the values that would encourage him to devote his later years to teaching patriotism and the importance of public service to students. During the Hunt, Todd Palin received a quick shooting pointer from Didi Foss, the wife of the late Joe Foss--and the Chairman Emeritus of the Institute--and then moved on to some further “tactical field instruction” from Gen. Walter Boomer, USMC, Ret. and LTG Jerry Boykin, USA, Ret. These tips, according to Gov. Palin’s Facebook page, “dramatically improved his ability to stalk the feathered beasts”.
