Oct. 18, 2010 - PRLog -- Convert Opera ADR bookmarks to HTML files

With the imminent release of Opera 11, you may want to get more things to know about the Opera features. Opera is a web browser and Internet suite developed by Opera Software. If you are going to utilize your Opera bookmarks on a browser for another computer, you need to export the bookmarks in the format of ADR file to an HTML file. Lots of browsers have the function to understand bookmarks in this format, even if they don't understand Opera's internal bookmark format. And some browsers, such as Firefox, can notice the presence of Opera on your computer. Therefore, it is often easier to just use the browser's bookmark import mechanism and import the bookmarks directly.
What is ADR?

ADR is a file extension serving for identifying the bookmark files with Opera. It is used by Opera to save and itemize bookmarks as you save them. ADR Bookmark entries are stored with id, name, url, created, description, visited, short name and unique id tags.
Step by step guide on converting Opera ADR bookmarks to HTML files

To export bookmarks from Opera, follow these steps:

  1. Go to File > Import and export > Export bookmarks as HTML
  2. Choose the file name, and click Save
  3. Import the bookmark file according to the instructions of your other browser. On Internet Explorer, you find this under File > Export and import. In Firefox, go to Bookmarks > Organize bookmarks, and from the Bookmarks Manager choose File > Import.
