Conflict Minerals Division Created

Oct. 14, 2010 - PRLog -- International Quarrying Consultants Limited has announced the launch of its new Conflict Minerals Division to answer the requirements of Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act 2010.This new Division is headed by Michael Foti FCA.
Section 1502 of this new Act now requires any company listed on a major U.S. Stock Exchange producing or supplying any product containing any one of four specified metals (and/or their compounds) to disclose both this fact and whether or not  these have been sourced from the designated Conflict Area.

Presently the U.S. Government has defined the Conflict Area as the Democratic Republic of Congo and its surrounding countries.
As well as applying to U.S. listed companies the Act also of course impacts upon their suppliers.
To confirm that any of the four metals concerned (and/or their compounds) included in a particular product or supply was not sourced from any Conflict Mineral requires a thorough investigation and analysis. Moreover the Act requires that the supply chain concerned is subject to an independent private sector audit.
