Follow on Google News | How to be happy the Humanist way to be discussed in LakelandEveryone wants to be happy, but not everyone knows how to achieve happiness. Jennifer Hancock, author of the new book The Humanist Approach to Happiness, will be discussing how the Humanism can help people lead happier, more productive lives.
“Humanists are obsessed with happiness.” says Ms. Hancock. “Yet our pursuit of personal happiness is not hedonistic. We know that in order to be truly happy, we must be responsible to ourselves and to those around us.” Adding, “by helping make the world a better place, we help ourselves find happiness.” Humanism is a progressive philosophy of life that challenges us to lead ethical lives of personal fulfillment that aspire to the greater good of Humanity. Or as Ms. Hancock personal motto puts it, “Live life, love other people and leave the world a better place.” The talk and book signing will start at 7 pm at the UU Congregation of Lakeland located at: 3140 Troy Ave in Lakeland. The event is free and open to the public. This event is hosted by the Humanists of West Central Florida. Jennifer Hancock is a writer, speaker, and Humanist.
