Newest College Hunks Hauling Junk Owner Follows in Grandfathers Footsteps

Oct. 11, 2010 - PRLog -- Plano, TX, United States – More than seventy-five years ago, the grandfather of the newest College Hunks Hauling Junk franchisee Dave Steinman ran a junk removal business of his own in Hartford, CT. The elder Steinman didn't enjoy the luxury of a diesel truck back in those days. Rather, his business was operated using only a horse and buggy.

Dave is excited to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps and to do so as a proud franchisee under the College Hunks Hauling Junk brand.

Dave is a Connecticut native and University of Hartford alumni, but has spent the last 28 years in North Texas where he spent the bulk of his adult career working in the travel, hospitality and travel technology business for companies such as Holiday Inn, American Airlines and Sabre. In 2009 after a corporate layoff, Dave decided it was time to apply his skills to running his own business.

Dave was originally attracted to the franchise concept by the opportunity to explore all facets of the business such as Sales, Marketing, Operations and Business Development. He especially enjoys establishing and cultivating long-lasting business relationships and partnerships.

While junk hauling may not sound like a glamorous gig, Dave saw what he believes to be a more treasure than trash when he discovered the College Hunks Hauling Junk brand. “It was the branding and the youthful, entrepreneurial spirit of the founders that really caught my eye.”

In 2005 President of College Hunks Hauling Junk, Nick Friedman, alongside his childhood friend and CEO Omar Soliman began the business using only a cargo van. They began removing junk and debris in the Washington D.C. area and never looked back. Today College Hunks Hauling Junk has expanded into the largest U.S. based junk removal service, offering green hauling solutions to commercial and residential clients nationwide.
