Oct. 6, 2010 - PRLog -- Naperville Area Humane Society (NAHS) is pleased to host its eighth annual Black Cat Ball gala on Friday, October 15, 2010 at the Hotel Arista in Naperville.

The evening will begin with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner and dancing. Live and silent auctions will aid in raising critical funds for NAHS. As they arrive, guests will be greeted by some of NAHS’ available dogs.

“Our live auction is always one of the evening’s highlights,” said Monica Bucek, development director at the Naperville Area Humane Society. “This year’s live auction packages include dinner for ten at Sullivan’s Steakhouse, tickets to the Bears vs. Eagles game, and tickets and backstage passes for this season’s Dancing with the Stars in California.”

This year’s Founder's Award will be presented to Heather Wachter of Senior Living Recruiters. “Heather has dedicated many years of service to our organization,” said Angie Wood, executive director at NAHS. “She was elected to our board of directors in the spring of 2000 and served as board president from 2004 through 2006. Heather has also served on and chaired several committees and has proven to be an invaluable asset to Naperville Area Humane Society. She has been a driving force in moving our organization forward,” said Ms. Wood.
