Are you in the Hershey, Pennsylvania area and planning to move? Or maybe you are looking to relocate into the area? Jack Trier Moving and Storage has the experience to make your move secure, easy and efficient. The goal of any full service mover should be to eliminate the stress of packing and moving.

Having been in the business since 1981 as Hershey, Pa Movers (http://www.jacktreier.com/harrisburg-pa-movers.asp) and throughout Pennsylvania, we’ve become the best in the business for residential and commercial moves whether local, long-distance or international.

Moving Tips And Checklists

Our primary goal at Jack Treier Moving & Storage is to make your move stress-free. Helping our clients prepare is one of the keys to ensuring a smooth move. Here are some steps that you can take to make sure you’ve got the major bases covered:

Post Office:  For the purposes of forwarding mail or changing your address, an online “Change of Address” form is available in digital form on the United States Postal Service Web site.

Contacts: Prepare a list of friends, relatives, business firms and others who should be notified of your move. Create an organized method for alerting this list of contacts.

Utilities: Set a disconnection date for utilities. When possible, keep utilities in service through moving day and make sure you have service available at your new home or apartment.

Packing:

Keep boxes to 50 lbs or less to make for easier carrying.

Wrap items carefully and properly cushion valuables

Don’t overpack boxes and make sure that each container is packed firmly with minimal space for shifting.

If possible, pack household appliances and electronics in original boxes. This way, you can be reasonably sure that the item will fit snugly in the container.

Movers will generally not permit hazardous materials in their moving trucks, along with other potentially harmful or damaging materials. Give yourself plenty of time to consult with your mover to avoid any compliance issues.

Pack things that you want immediately accessible upon arrival (food; first aid materials; toiletries, children’s toys; etc.)
