Oct. 4, 2010 - PRLog -- As a result of a EU ruling, recommendations were put into place to automatically place a 'cap' on customers monthly bills as they reach £41/E50. This has been instigated to protect customers from the worry of receiving massive bills on their return. However, customers can opt to have this 'capping' lifted by their network service provider to allow charges to continue without restriction.

In a recent survey, it was shown that 91% of us take and use our mobile phones abroad for either holiday or business reasons. As most people are generally aware that it is expensive to make calls from their mobiles whilst abroad, it was shown that 4 out of 10 people were genuinely shocked at the extent of their expensive bills. EU guidelines therefore now aim to apply a  maximum amount the mobile phone provider can charge for their

European services, eg:
37p per min making a call
16p to receive phone call
9p to send a text

However, only a staggering 15% of the people surveyed stated that they were able to correctly check their bill for the charges made with any degree of accuracy. In contrast, a huge 61% of people surveyed believed that to receive a text whilst abroad costs, when in fact it is generally free.

Current major network offering: Global SIM card aim to help you avoid roaming charges and save up to 90% on chat time and receive calls free. T-Mobile & Orange have a unique way of offering cheap international calls by using international dial-a-code. These are very simple to use and avoid you being overcharged..

Alternatives, could be to top-up with £30 on a Ventone Mobile then receive 1000 FREE international minutes or 2000 minutes & texts free/UK. You can choose from smart bundles packages on Pay as you go on a monthly UK and International plan....to name a few.
