Follow on Google News | Agoda Secures Last-Minute Hotel Deals For the 2010 Singapore F1Agoda.com, Asia’s global hotel booking site and part of Nasdaq-listed Priceline.com, today announces great-value last-minute hotel deals for the upcoming 2010 Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix.
By: Niramon Yuenyong Taking place on September 24, 25 and 26, Singapore's Grand Prix is unique in that it features the competition's only F1 night race. The three-day schedule comprises 13 race events in all, including practice and qualifying sessions for the Formula BMW Pacific, the Porsche Carrera Cup and the Formula One. The Grand Prix night race takes place on Sunday September 26 at 8pm local Singapore time. Qualifying Grand Prix teams must complete 61 laps of a five-kilometer street circuit that takes them through some of Singapore's most beautiful and iconic locations. Public roads throughout the city are blocked off on a 23-turn route that passes Singapore City Hall and loops the Marina Bay area, taking in the famous Merlion statue. More than purely fast cars, the Singapore Grand Prix features a full round-up of entertainment, including pop concerts, art exhibitions, nightclub events and a variety of live performances, including the Chippendales male dance troupe and The Bob Marley Experience. After hours, dance music aficionados can party into the night at the Esplanade Outdoor Theater, where Montreal producer, Tiga, will be DJing. Pop fans also have a lot to get excited about with Missy Elliot and Mariah Carey headlining concerts in the F1 Pit Building on September 24 and 26 respectively. Daughtry, Sean Kingston and American Idol star Adam Lambert will also be performing, while K-Pop fans can look forward to appearances and b-boy dancing from former 2PM member Jay Park and his new band Art of Movement. Long after the roar of F1 engines has faded from Singapore's streets, art lovers can still enjoy the Art Beyond Limits exhibition, which runs from September 17 to October 24. With pieces on display at Orchard Road Underground, Marina Bay Sands and Opera Gallery at ION Orchard, this exhibition features works by Picasso, Andy Warhol and Damien Hirst.
