Sept. 13, 2010 - PRLog -- (9/14/2010) – The Greater Raleigh/Durham chapter of Mothers & More will host an Open House on October 19, 2010 at Spring Arbor of Raleigh, located at 1810 North New Hope Road, Raleigh, NC 27604 at 7:00 PM.  Attendance is open to the public and all women interested in learning more are welcome.

The annual Open House allows Mothers & More to introduce its wide array of support to women of the Raleigh/Durham area and beyond.  The theme is of “different links we have both in our own lives and within Mothers & More. And that these links we have within ourselves and to the outside world deserve recognition and respect.”   Examples of these links will include opportunities available to participate in significant interest groups, our local businesses, individual and national supporters, as well as local partnerships and collaborations the chapter is already in the process of developing.

“Mothers & More is about getting together with women just like you and not feeling like you have to play a particular role,” says Jackie Peraza, chapter leader of Mothers & More Greater Raleigh/Durham.  “We pursue topics and interests that affect us and appeal to us as women, citizens and parents.  We’re the only organization for mothers that focuses on the mother and her interests, allowing us to truly be ourselves.”

A non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of mothers through support, education and advocacy, the Greater Raleigh/Durham chapter of Mothers & More features monthly meetings on topics that interest all mothers, as well as Moms’ Nights Out, children activities, book club, Advocacy and Community Outreach, and more.  Future meeting topics include: Financially Friendly Vacations, Organization/Time Management, and Career Transitions and Motherhood - Finding Balance.

This informal Open House event ensures that all guests feel the welcome, accepting atmosphere prevalent throughout the organization.  The event will be held without children to allow mothers to focus solely on themselves.  Light food will be available and door prizes will be given.  All prospective members may attend with no obligation to join.

Mothers & More provides opportunities for mothers to re-connect with themselves, connect with other mothers, and connect with the world.  The organization is committed to creating a place for mothers to feel a part of a larger community of women who are experiencing the challenges that all mothers face, not only in raising children but also in fulfilling their sense of self and understanding society’s often mistaken assumptions about them.  To learn more, visit www.mothersandmore.org .
